Welcome to the World of Taliah!

Hello, my Squids! Welcome to the World of Taliah! I present the first four pages of Taliah Chapter 1: Deep Red. We are introduced to three of our main protagonists, Leira Orta, a zoologist on the run from the Blades of Oa for the murder of a co-worker; Xolani Abraham, one of the Blades of Oa; and Micah Ido, another one of the Blades of Oa.

When I launched this Patreon, my intention was to provide exclusive art, behind the scenes tales, and tools for other artists to use to make it easier to create but my ultimate goal was to publish Taliah, my webcomic! While it is a free comic and will be published on my website as well as the Global Comix website, my Patreon gets to see it first. In fact, Patreon will be two pages ahead (possibly more in the future; more on that later). While Patreon gets the first three pages today (EDIT: Merry Christmas! As of today, I drew a new page 1 and redid text for pages 2, 3, and 4, so now there are four pages; the rest of the page counts will be changed accordingly), I won’t be releasing the first four pages publicly until December 31st! And, on December 15th and 29th, page 7 will go up on Patreon. The schedule thereafter will be every other Friday, beginning on January 12th, when Patreon will receive page 8 and the public will get pages 5 and 6.

Remember when I said Patreon might be further ahead of the public as time goes on? Well, while this is a webcomic, it is divided into chapters. Each chapter is roughly 26 pages, about the length of a standard western comic book. Between each chapter, there will be a 2 month break, during which time I’ll be finalizing the first few pages for the next chapter before publishing them publicly. However, as pages are finalized, they will appear on my Patreon, so there is a chance several pages may appear here before they go live. Patreon could be as many as three or four pages ahead when the next chapter goes live publicly.

EDIT: Hello, again, my Squids! If you read the original release pages on November 30th, you’ll realize there’s been some changes. I created a brand new page 1 while also changing a lot of the text on the, now, pages 2, 3, and 4. This adds far more context to what’s happening in the overall story earlier on. Originally, when I was working on this, I wanted to release all of Chapter 1 as a single volume. All of the story context added to the first four pages were in the rest of the volume (along with story beats you haven’t seen yet) but since I switched to a webcomic format, it suited the story better to have them earlier on. Let me know what you think!

Enjoy!
