Hey, my Squids!
Recently, I showed off the redesign for Leira Orta that will show up during Chapter 2: Elusive Star, but I wanted to share some future redesigns to the other characters that show up in Taliah. Today, I share Micah Ido’s redesign.
Micah Ido is a Blade of Oa, one of the Sworn Blades, who is after Leira at the beginning of Taliah. Their current design was one of the first one I fell in love with when originally designing them. However, as the years progress, some of my earlier design language for the characters doesn’t adequately showcase their personalities in ways that I want to be more apparent. Micah’s hunting outfit, the one they currently wear, will show up again in the future after this new outfit enters the comic, but I wanted to give Micah something a little fresher than what they currently wear.
To note, one of the things that you might not know is how long Micah’s hair is and the redesign helps showcase this. When they aren’t in battle or on the hunt, they wear it down but will quickly put it up into buns when the need arises. That’s a fun feature that I haven’t had the chance to show until now.
There isn’t a definitive chapter that this redesign will appear but it will be somewhere in the next two or three. Until then, I hope you like the preview and character reference sheet.
