Hey, my Squids!
Dropping in to show off some page 7 of Chapter 3 work in progress. This is the first time you get to see Leira and Saul interact. You get to see their chemistry, how much they care about each other, and how they talk to each other. It is so bittersweet that over five, almost six years ago, I knew I would draw a moment where Leira talked to him but I didn’t know what it would entail. I hadn’t yet decided that they would be an item, that his death would be central to her personal growth, discovery, and trauma. Now I’ve arrived at the moment I’ve dreaded since deciding: giving context and depth to their relationship.
