I have another playlist for you all to check out. Here’s the blurb about the project that I posted when I posted Leira’s:
“Recently, I’ve been putting together playlists for the characters that you’ll meet in my webcomic, Taliah. I tend to listen to a lot of different music while working on the pages, so I thought it would be fun if you got a sampling of what I’m jamming out to while I work. Coincidentally, it’s also music that the characters would listen to! So why not put together playlists of the type of music they would rock while going about their lives?”
The sixth playlist is Saul Menfer’s. This playlist is bittersweet. When the story opens, Saul is already dead. His death is the catalyst for the entire tale. But he was very important to Leira and his playlist reflects that. It’s at the cornerstone of regret, bitterness, and longing, three themes that are woven through the story of Taliah. I also want to say that putting this playlist together has left me an emotional wreck for weeks. As the person who created these characters and their tale, you live with them for a long time in your head and heart and grow to know them as intimately as you know yourself. Saul was a good person with a big heart and it saddens me that I won’t get to show a lot of that as the story unfolds because his tale is over. However, I hope both through Leira’s words, actions, and the themes of the tale, that you come to understand just how important he was to her across the years they knew each other.
